Title: 1949 b31 primary drive
Post by: DEDGE on 29 Mar, 2020, 14:17
Hi all
I am rebuilding a 1949 b31 plunger with 6 spring clutch. I am at the stage where I need to sort out and line up the primary drive. Any advice on the best way to measure the engine sprocket and clutch chain wheel alignment for the engine sprocket spacers and how can you check that the gearbox is in the frame square and the chain wheel running parallel. The book said a felt and cork washer between the  clutch sleeve and gearbox sprocket, but I only have room for one, is this normal and if so which one should I use.
Best regards
Dedge
