Title: A10 Piston Rings
Post by: STEPHEN TAYLOR on 28 Mar, 2020, 09:30
Does any one know if I can use Triumph Piston Rings in an A10? I very cleverly dropped an hammer and broke a couple of piston rings. The bike is +60 so 71.5mm. I can't find any new rings (except in Germany) I've tried e-bay and all the other usual classic bike places, but I can get some Triumph rings at 71.5mm. Thanks

Thanks a lot. I'd looked at SRM but the search for BSA A10 piston rings didn't give any results. I didn't put in a part number.

You would need to ensure that they are the same thickness and depth. To thick they will jam, to thin and they will act like little pumps as they flutter in the grooves. To deep and they will lock up as the piston expands.

Hi,
Burton bike bits used to sell rings individually. I believe they have a small number of people working maybe worth contacting them.

Best wishes...
