Hi Guys I'm back.
Ok I have just purchased a new exhaust pipe for the B31, I got it from Draganfly over the phone, because I had other queries over a few parts, it came the following day, they are a good bunch down there, very helpful. So today I took it to the workshop just to try for size, and see what it looked like, I pushed the pipe into the cylinder head about halfway, then noticed the mounting bracket didn't look as if it would meet up with the engine crankcase stud that secures it, I took it out, measured the depth of the hole in the head, and put a bit of masking tape at that depth on the pipe, I shoved it a jiggled it all the way in, and it was obvious that the bracket was a good 3/4 inch away from the stud, it's the correct pipe, it was written on 1946- 1949 Rigid BSA B31, so have any of you had the same? surely they can't be making them so far adrift, I can bend and twist the bracket, but bloody hell you shouldn't be having to, advise please all you Beeza Men.
I had the same issue with my Victor upswept pipe from Armours. Header pipe was a great fit but bracket took thirty minutes of fettling to get it to fit without damaging it. Maybe not just a Draganfly issue my friend.
Same issue with the new Armours pipe on my plunger B31- I had to heat the bracket and put a slight twist in it to get it to line up with the mounting bolt
