Hello all
I'm still trying to find out what type of Seat was fitted to the 1958 super rocket
Was it the flat type or the one with the curve in?
Thanks
Hi, I'm brand new to Beezers but have been looking at various sites advertising Super rockets and they all look like they have a slight curve in them.......
For what it's worth...

Good luck,

Hi
Thanks
That's what I've got but it's a Wassell pattern part, pretty good by the looks of it.
I've got a little bit more info since I posted but it does look like the curved ones are correct so I'm going to stick with it until I'm told otherwise by a knowledgable person.
Hi,
I have used, and I believe this company has the best classic seat knowledge:

Here's their images and dates for BSA's:

Maybe worth a call to confirm.
Best wishes...
Leighton been doing seats as long as I've been riding, never had a problem with my old thunderbolt seat.
I use Roy Bacon's bible as shows most bikes and years somewhere in there indexed.
Buy all my seats from leighton they are very good .
Thanks all for the replies.
I'm a little way off getting it all back together so will talk to Leighton.
On closer inspection of the photos of the bike from the 60's I think it has the curved Seat. It's a 1958 registered super rocket.
Thanks
should have a deep curve ,i have 2 new Leighton seats ,one almost straight ,other curved , stupidly i left the old one at Leightons as a pattern , wish I hadnt !it was really rusty.the seat that fits best on my 61 frame has two rubber blocks that should rest on the frame rails they just about do with a little mod on the mountings .
I needed a duel seat for my 57 Spitfire so went to Leightons as they were considered the best. The build quality was excellent and he did it without the white piping as requested but the shape was completely wrong with too much padding so it is straight. This makes the bike very tall to ride compared to the Wassell seat which has the pronounced dip.
Another source of annoyance was the two captive nuts were UNF as opposed to cycle which meant I couldn't use the correct extended head bolts to attached the seat. I did enquire why he didn't use the correct nuts and he replied it was a cost thing. A couple of quid on a £200 seat? I did tap out the nuts to cycle, but it's not right.
I'll never use one of their seats again.
I am going to stick with the Wassell seat for now until
