Title: A10 dual seat front attachment
Post by: msdavidson on 18 Dec, 2019, 14:06
I'm new to this form so hi all,  I hope someone can help me.
I'm repairing a 1960 A10 and the frame came with the front seat attachment detached. The place it looks as if it came off is too far back for the seat to fit correctly. Can anyone give me the correct location, ie the distance it should be down the main frame tube from the petrol tank attachment. The BSA drawing of the frame gives a dimension but only when the frame is set up in a jig.
Regards
Malcolm Davidson

Hi Malcolm
I'm fairly new to the world of the A10 having got one about two months ago
I have a 1958 Super Rocket, between the centre of the rear shock bolt and the centre of the seat pin is 390mm on mine. Can't help with the measurement you asked for as the tank is still on it and it's a bit cold to go out and take it off etc.
The pin almost sits on top of the point where the bit of the frame the tank fits on meets the bits that then run each side towards the back of the bike.
I've posted a pic of the bike when the tank was off it.
Hope this helps

Hi,
Thanks but not necessary. The measurement you gave me is enough to get it sorted. It turns out that I've got the wrong seat as well!
Regards,
Malcolm.
