Title: Control Cable
Post by: BeenyBoy on 05 Nov, 2019, 19:50
1954 C11G Plunger

Hi

I'm trying to get hold of a front brake cable but they seem to be a rare as RHS and/or priced just short of needing a new mortgage... anybody know who's got any at less than about £30 !

Also need a throttle and air slide cable- again they seem to be impossible to get for the 274 remote float carb...any ideas welcome...

Maybe an article in The Star, showing us how to make our own? Oops, sorry, have I said that before? :)   Phil.

Found an old cable- I think from the B31-in reasonable nick.. 6" too long and the wrong diameter adjuster but I've taken the end off- shortened it and changed the adjuster- re-soldered the nipple ...back together and all is fine....damn site cheaper than £35 for a new 'un

Hi,

I have had a self soldered clutch cable fail and do not feel confident enough to do a brake cable as my life and the lives of others may depend on it.  Personally I would rather pay the money and get quality cable from a reputable company.
