1946 C10. How do I remove the clutch center from the gearbox output shaft please? Can't get a puller on it as there's no space between the back of the clutch centre and the circular sliding plate behind it.
Thanks, Rick.
The centre or sleeve will have an internal thread for an extractor.
The extractor is the same as for the A10 4 spring clutch.
See service sheet below.
Thanks for that. Still a bit unsure as I have all the clutch components off and only have the splined centre left in place. I believe it's on a taper shaft and I can see that it has a key in it.
Should I reassemble the clutch and start again?
Thanks, Rick.
Should be able to use the extractor with just the sleeve in position.
Thread is 1 inch x 26 tpi.
Will send you a PM
Hi Julian, Thanks for the offer but I don't see how that puller would work in my situation. All the clutch components are off except for the splined collar that's keyed on to the tapered shaft from the gearbox. There's no thread to screw the extractor on to.?????
Hi again Julian. Tried to post a photo but too large. The part I'm stuck with is numbered 14 on the clutch diag. on Draganfly's site. Cheers, Rick.
Does the splined sleeve have an external thread?
I would have expected to see a sleeve similar to this one;

Hi Julian, Thanks for that reminder.........of course the sleeve has an internal thread and the extractor has an external.....Dohhh!
I'd forgotten annnd the sleeve had so much crud in it I couldn't see the thread.
Cheers, Rick.
Hi again Julian, would this be the same tool on Ebay?
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Clutch-Hub-Extractor-for-Triumph-Twins-BSA-A65/283564924446?hash=item4205c95e1e:g:Cd8AAOSwgARa7WrA
Cheers, Rick.
I would check with the seller that it has the 1 inch x 26 tpi cycle thread I though the all Triumph twins used 20 tpi. The later, 1966 on A65, tool 61 3766 had 20 tpi cycle thread and some ebay sellers seem to confuse the 2 tools advertising 61 3766 as 26 tpi.
Thanks.
