Title: A65 Clutch push rod
Post by: Rory57 on 25 Sep, 2019, 19:02
Whilst doing the works as described in my post 'Third gear' I have discovered that my clutch rod is actually 2 pieces with a ball bearing in between them. Has anybody else experienced this. I was going to order a new 'one' but can only find it as a single full length rod. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
Yes, usually a roller bearing is used if the rod has to be cut due to damage. Saves buying a new rod.

Best wishes

Thanks for the reply. I might get a new one as it's easy to change at the moment. I have received my new kickstart pinion today so can start putting it back together soon.

one of mine had a ball bearing in the middle, wheras the majority of Japanese bikes have the ball bearing at the end of the rod under the operating cam.
the rods do wear and one way is to dress of the ends to stop the bulge fouling then put the ball in between
