Title: BSA C15G
Post by: TTJOHN on 17 Sep, 2019, 09:25
Hello.

Can anyone tell me the amount of C15Gs produced by BSA in 1966-67?, I know they were only made during these two years & they were the last ones made but I was just curious as to the actual amount.

Kind regards TTJohn

Were C15G's introduced for the start of the 1966 model year? If so then I can give you a good idea of how many.

Paul.

Paul,
Yes,I believe the the G mode were only made for 1966 to 67, with I believe the uprated bearings & points on the side.

The C15G model was produced from June 1966 until June 1967.

Engine and frame numbers were the same and prefixed C15G.

Around 2300 made.

Thanks Julian, I knew that you would know, they seem to be a nice engine from what I have seen and read up on, better than the normal earlier C15s, I can't comment on the later ones.

C15 engine confusion. :-\

Re:1965 C15F.  Is this 'F' engine identical to 66/67 C15G engine?   F to G simply being the year change?

The points side-access cap I always thought was the telltale...to the ball and roller bottom end and, I believe, a needle roller layshaft and larger oil pump?  G and F or G only, that is the question.

Not the same.

The G models are much more robust having a timing side ball main bearing and the F has timing side bush main bearing. Othe differences also.

Julian , I understood the f went side points and had the timing side ball but not the uprated gearbox bushes . Happy to be corrected if I'm wrong. Regards

Well I've just got the new log book for the C15G from DVLA, who were very helpful,  I have now just taxed it so, all I have to do now is give it a good check over and sort out a few things that I found to be not up to my standard, wiring and some cosmetics, I just got the rear wheel out and had it straightened, now to get on with the wiring, Unusual as it is wired neg earth, normally positive.
