Title: A10 crank seal
Post by: Mitch77 on 11 Sep, 2019, 20:29
Hi All
Just rebuilding my A10SR engine simple question
Should I use a metal cased crank seal as original ( as sold by SRM ) or a rubber seal ?
From my research so far I am leaning toward a rubber seal !
Any info/advice most welcome
Thanks
Mitch

I would say either, todays rubber is better quality than earlier also rubber may fall into any small hollows wheras steel wont, but then I would also use a seal retainer from loctite. rubber is probably better growing and shrinking with heat but we used steel for many years.

but, then its the seal part that counts not the outside.
