Title: BSA B25 part numbers

Can anyone tell me why there are different part numbers for the B25 Starfire head? in my parts book it has 40- 0929 yet the one I have on the bike is a 71-2195, could it be something to do with the compression?

71 2195 could be from the OIF B25SS.

Check the rocker box studs - the 1971 takes 5/16 inch studs - up to 1970 takes 1/4 inch studs. The rocker box to head joint surface is slightly different and needs a different gasket.
