Hi
Well so far it looks like the Zenor Diode needs replacing.
Does anybody know where I can get one for a 1969 BSA 250 Starfire?
Cheers

For my B44 project I looked for a decent modern + ground zenor diode but gave up.. I decided to fit a reg/rec which obviously does away with the zenor and rectifier. I still left the zenor in place on the heatsink, but heat shrank insulation on it's terminal then cable tied the wiring connector to the terminal to still keep the original wiring in place. I then made a bracket which attaches onto the 2 top oil tank bolts plus the top tool box mounting tab. Reg/rec bolted onto the bracket with good rubber washers to give that some protection from vibes.. I have had the very same type of reg/rec mounted under the seat of my OIF A65L for the last 10 years and it gets plenty of cooling in that position.. I'm not saying you should do as I've done but just throwing ideas into the ring!! HTH
I have done similar to Ian on my Starfire, I have left the heat sink just for the original look.
Thanks for the info 👍🏻
