For cheap I sell rob hunter as many are on budget, last a year or two then work out OK for value. For longer life Varta or yuasa, I find Tayna batteries do good prices and delivery. On some 6v bikes and the odd 12v I have used Hawker cells, dry batteries. No acid to worry about. Which thankfully we have had a reprieve regarding the acid selling law that was to come in.

Watch eBay as you don't know how long they have been on shelves, I've got three that I've had in stock years, used one a week or so ago and totally dead, never had acid in.

I fitted a Motobatt MB9U AGM Battery to my 12v converted 1960 G/Flash in 2017. Fits in battery compartment perfectly and keeps it's charge - even over the winter months when my bike doesn't get very many long runs to charge it.  Big advantage is that it's sealed and being absorbent glass mat you don't have worry about acid spillage.

Have a Motobatt on mine, swear by it. Still put it in doors over the winter, old habits ?

Working on a 1980 Kawasaki csr650 , new Motobat battery, charging 14.5 volts.
Useless, won't hold charge.
Auto headlights on when ignition switched on, can probably get the engine to turn over twice before it runs out of power..
Horses for courses.
