Can you identify which model the cases come from A10 or A7 by looking at the casting numbers ? And also the cams , mine are stamped 6/334
couldnt the bottom end the same for both , just barrels and top end different for 500 or 650, some timing gear will be different for each model.
the cams would be 67-334 not 6/334 and possibly a touring rather than performance cam 1954-1957 on both A7 and A10
1954-1957 parts cases are 67-453 and 67-455 for both
1963 parts book says left hand 67-1079 for A10 67-1085 for A7, 67-1080 for A10 and 67-1087 for A7
Another step in the right direction !I read timing side 67/294 cant find anything on the drive side ! And the only crankase stamped number is 5479 ! Ta mate
The parts book numbers on crankcases are the numbers for the case with fixed fittinge - the bushes and studs in particular. The casting number on the case will be the number for the bare case and you will not find that in a parts book. Usually the number for the case with fixed fittings is either one above or one below the casting number.
The 1950 parts book shows the A10 case numbers as;
Drive side with fixed fittings = 67 291
Gear side with fixed fittings = 67 293
The A7 engine at this time was the long stroke model, cases completely different parts.
The 1951/52 book shows different numbers, again with fixed fittings, used for both A7 (the short stroke one from engine AA7 101)
Drive side= 67 453
gear side = 67 455
So I think you have early A10 crankcases.
Its looking good !! Thank you for your expertise !! This old thing ,me as well ! , are going to Bonneville next year in the Vintage Gas Class , so I needed to verify its age , thank you Harry
