I'm about to fit turn indicators to my A50 and I'm toying with using LEDs and a warning buzzer. Has anyone fitted anything similar? How loud does the buzzer have to be to be heard above the engine and is it wired in place of a warning light? Is a buzzer compatible with an LED flasher unit?
Cheers
I installed indicators and buzzer to an A65 I had but the bike was still on 6v and these didn't work very good because of lack of power i.e. could hear the buzzer but no indicator light, so I got rid of the buzzer and the indicator worked until I had to press the back brake which stopped the indicator from blinking, I didn't want to upgrade it to 12v and kept it original. I brought a mirror and used hand signals. worked a treat.
there are indicator relays with built in buzzers available in one unit, not much bigger than normal flaser unit, but as mentioned 12v. not enough power to run. of course, if you try to fit a set get correct relay or you will have to fit extra resistors.
Hi,
I have fitted LED indicators, E marked which are successful. I didn't use a buzzer as with a close fitting helmet and exhaust noise I thought it would be difficult to hear.

You can purchase auto turn off relays such as above which work with momentary or normal rocker switch. The E marking and relay option is not cheap but I feel safer on the road and it suits my bike. If you want pics let me know.
Best wishes...
With mixed views on the buzzer I've fitted lucas style indicators with led bulbs, modified a lucas style switch to fit next to the dip switch and fitted an led panel light between the speedo and rev counter. There was no way I was going to see it in the headlamp shell in bright light. A couple of diodes between the indicators and warning light prevent both sides flashing together.
