Title: C10 Staring problem when warm.
Post by: Rick Rybicki on 01 Jun, 2019, 11:59
Hi, back again with C10 problem. '46 C10 is now "on the road" with original reg. From cold, it starts well with the carb tickled. Turn it off and it will start again easily. Leave it for 10 / 15 mins, kick hell out of it and it wont start. Go back to it after an hour or so and it starts reasonably well with a tickling. When it wont start, it's still got a spark like a welding rod but the plug is dry when I take it out. It's got a heat resistant gasket between the manifold and carb and there's plenty of fuel getting to the carb. I've cleaned the needle jet and it's reservoir. Ideas please ?????

Well, sorted! Replaced the 70 year old HT lead with it's little connecting ring to screw on to the plug with a new HT lead and plug cap. Still got original plug that was in it when I bought it. Staring after a couple of kicks now. It's going to be my regular, local run-about now. Perfect for around the villages and local shopping.
