Title: 54/55 centre stand
Post by: NASH on 17 May, 2019, 13:34
Has anybody made a successful modification on centre stands to 54/55 A7/A10 to make them easier to operate. Rather than replace with the later roll on stand?

Go to the website www.a7a10.net/forum and type in the search box main stand and in the first link search down for member kiwipom and read his solution it works because I have made it but be warned you will need access to a lathe and welding facilities also it took some trial and error attempts before I got it right. However while his idea does work and takes very little effort  it is a little awkward to get used to. You could also use a pece of flooring under the rear wheel surprisingly it does make quite a difference and I do carry a piece of flooring in my top box putting the bike on the side stand then wheeling the rear wheel onto the flooring lifting onto the stand then replace the into top box, a bit time taking but it works. Also I do believe that the mounting points for replacing with a later stand are different.
