Title: Sloper crank and Rod
Post by: mark quinney on 10 Apr, 2019, 20:23
Hi
I brought  a sloper  in bits awhile back an overhead valve 500 from 1930 and I'm just starting to try and sought out the bits , my first problem concerns the crank and rod part numbers as they don't tally with the parts book . The numbers cast on the rod are 24-281 and the numbers on both the flywheels are 24-231 (  I thought each flywheel should have different numbers ) non of these numbers are in my 1930 /31 or 32 parts book . So does anyone know if these parts are for a sloper or another bike ?  . The drive side and gear side engine shafts on the flywheel are the correct numbers 24-341 and 24-339 so adds to too my confusion . Hopefully someone can shed some light on the parts / numbers
Regards Mark

The cast in numbers usually refer to the bare rod or flywheel. the numbers in the parts book are often for the complete part - a rod with bushes or a flywheel with drive shafts for example.
