Hi
I spent weeks and weeks on the building of a good gearbox, so had plenty of experience, I could not find a decent shaft, so had to purchase a nother box, I ended up with 3 boxes. The shaft with the gear on may at first look like the gear is a part of it, however if you look carefully at both sides of the gear, you will see which way it was pressed on, you may need to heat it up a little, I layed the gear against the vice jaws, and with a copper mallet I knocked the shaft through the gear. If when rebuilding it all you need any help, I have some brilliant photographs showing the gear positions in relation to the spring return ratchet.

Hi

I have the same type of box and had the same problem.
Sometimes they can be a bugger to shift but a mate with a hydraulic bench press is very usefull!
It's just a case of applying enough force

good luck!

cheers
