Title: A65 oil seals
Post by: Mike Farmer on 02 Mar, 2019, 15:55
 :)
Help please.

I'm fully aware that the years are creeping up on me but not this fast. Please don't laugh.

Putting A65 engine back together---Bought a oil seal kit with five oi; seals?? so far so good
1 main gearbox output shaft seal.
2 plate at rear of clutch
3 main bearing oil seal (Drive side)
4 timing shaft oil seal ---behind ignition plate
5 Havent got a clue. Which is absolutely stupid cos this is the third engine that I've done in the last couple of years and I can only find 4 in the book.

That the later post 1969 models have an extra seal on the gearchange or kickstart possibly?

Mike

The idler shaft seal changed for 1969 on.  I suspect your seal set has one for 1962-68 and one for 1969 on.

Thank god for that I was beginning to believe that I really am shot away.

Thank heavens for the forum.
