Title: Fork tube tap size
Post by: Csx355 on 24 Feb, 2019, 22:07
Hi all - I need to tidy up the threads in my B44 shuttle valve fork tops. Any idea what tap size I need please. I gather that they are 28TPI UNF. The threads are only damaged at the top and not allowing the fork caps to catch. Alternatively is anyone aware of deeper fork caps?

Hi,
    There are 2 41-5129 and 41-5146, could it be this one(5/16 x 26), 1-1/16 x 20 ?

Best wishes...

Thanks Bess - I did check out Dragonfly for the caps, I was just unsure ref the actual tap size. I will measure up and count the threads. Hopefully Tracy Tools will have one.

British Standard Cycle threads are usually 20 or 26 TPI.
I know that the thread that hold the wheels axle in, are 5/16 x 26 tpi.
I am waiting for a tap to clear one of the threads on my B25
