Title: A50 parts book query
Post by: chaz on 23 Feb, 2019, 21:16
Ive just picked up a customized A50 Royal Star, wont be to the true BSA enthusiasts like but it compliments the A7 and T100 chops I have.
Its come back from America and was advertised as a 1969 it has matching numbers A50R XC.....
my question is the 1968 parts book says A50-RB101 while the 1969 says A50-RC11101 and Ive seen elsewhere XC stands for December 1969 but elsewhere Ive seen , cant remember where, that 1969 ran Aug 1968 - July 1969, so would have to be a 1968 if December.
as the numbers dont match the ones on the parts books , am I reading the 1969 as should be A50RXC11101, is it just BSA 's way of confusing people??

The "XC" is a 1969 season (August 1968- July 1969) model from December 1968.

A50 RC means R for Royal star and C for 1969 season.
