Title: QD Hub
Post by: BANHAM on 10 Jan, 2019, 13:00
Has anybody experienced problems with the mating of QD hubs. I have QD hub on my B44SS which was extremely difficult to part and now after a good clean of the splines I can only get about half engagement. Any idea's guys

Can you get it together without the spindle in?

Had a problem with mine. Turned out it was a bent spindle.( the longer one)

Give the surfaces a good clean with gunk and put some copper grease on it.

Makes no difference with or without the spindle. Not sure if it's the male spline or the female spline that needs attention.

I know not much help but it has to be a problem with the splines. I suppose the tiniest burr will jamb it.

A bit random. But did BSA make more than type of QD hub and you've got a mismatched pair that someone has forced together in the past?

You never know what may have happened over the years

That's a good point, is there any body out there that might know?
