Hi folks,
From the attached photo, you'll see that the two, thin, engine shock absorber nuts fitted to my 1929 Sloper have had an interesting life. Unlike some previous owners, i did manage to use a C spanner, rather than a hammer and chisel, to remove them when swapping the engine sprocket for a larger one. Someone appeared to have slightly peened the outer one so that it jammed with the inner one, but it was reasonably easy to undo nevertheless.
My basic question is: I have tightened one against the other, but do I need to Loctite those nuts on ? Is there a significant risk that they could come loose and cause mayhem ?
Cheers,
Bevan

Hi. I would do it with lock tight just in case!!!! "When in doubt, there's no doubt"

Hi there
Loktite is for the modern people ;)
1. I would fabricate a washer, about 1mm thick.
2. Then put the washer between the two nuts and lock the nuts.
3. When the nuts are locked, use a centre punch and bend the washer in to a slot of the inner nut, and the other side to the slot to the outer nut.
