I am intrigued by the front brake on the A65; it looks like an 8" brake with twin leading shoe operation. Can anyone shed any light on what this is? Who, where, cost?

Hi,

It looks like a Phil Pearson Gold Star one.

Originally an Eddie Dow extra in the 1960s with versions for many British bikes.

The one for 8 inch half width hubs came with 1 3/8 wide shoes for Goldie up to 1965 Lightnings etc and 1 5/8 inch wide shoe for 1966/67 A65L and A65T.

New ones being sold on bay for Goldie;
