Title: Sloper chains
Post by: BEVANC on 03 Nov, 2018, 20:18
Hi folks,
Modern chain size equivalents cause me confusion.  Could someone please clarify for me the sizes of the Sloper primary, and drive chains, and what their modern equivalents are ?
Many thanks,
Bevan

Further to my question;

I've cleaned up the old knackered chains; they are unbranded, but they have the following stamped on them:
Primary - 08B
Secondary - 10B

Cheers,
Bevan

BSA give them as:
Front 3/8 x 0.305"
Rear 5/8 x 3/8"

Sprocket Unlimited have a conversion table on theor website. They can probably also conform sizes and modern equivalenst of you give them a call.

Thanks Dean,
The sprockets are very worn and hooked, so it was hard to measure the pitch accurately.  Looks like these have close modern equivalents - primary #428; drive #520.
