Hello all . 1962 b40. After an age it seems have replaced all jets in the carburetor. Bike ticks over really nicely .When it's taken out onto the road it cuts out in second or third and wont start again . Initially it starts easy first or second kick. Any suggestions please. Would also appear to be a bit rich.
Mangetout.
First thing to check is the spark.
Sounds more like an ignition fault.
Good luck
Tim
Thanks why do you say it may be ignition .it sparks after stopping but won't start.
Is fuel getting through?
tickle the carb until fuel leaks out.
Mick
Yes there's fuel come out if I tickle
Possibly a blocked breather.
Has the engine been rebuilt recently or has it neen running fine. Was the carb rebuilt as a result of this problem or for something else?
You say you still have a spark after stopping.
Is it a good fat spark ??
What's the history of the ignition any thing changed ?
Let us know how you get on
Tim
