I'm refurbing a B40 that my uncle has given me - my inheritance.
I need to replace the exhaust system - well my uncle advised it, as in his words "there are no baffles it's held together with filler and weld"
I have done a bit of looking around and seen an exact replica for l£100+ but considering a get it running pipe as other parts need the cash spent, would love to set it up totally but don't have the money now and need new bike kit (helmet etc). So intend to buy a downpipe with a n other style of tail pipe.
The downpipes for the B40 appear to be around £60-65 but I have found a C15 one for £45 and I am wondering if they are compatible.
They have different parts number but looks similar.
Does anyone know if these are compatible?
Also has anyone have any experience to different types of end pipes?
Have a look at ClassicBikeshop's website. They have both down pipes and silencers for C15/B40 instock. I have used them for BSA spares and can't fault them. Prices are also very reasonable too.

That's the website I was on but cannot find the B40 on there only the C15.
Contacted them and they said it should but could not guarantee 100% but if not I can return.

They are not the same. I had trouble getting one for my B40 when I restored it last year.
I eventually bought a new pattern pipe but the fit was very poor. It was exchanged and that one was also poor but in a different way!
I eventually took the pipes and my original scrap one to where they were made in the west midlands and they bent one to match my original one. There gig for bending the pipes was very poor and not consistent in the pipes it made.
