Hi,
The 1954 to 1960 SR rev counter cable, 38" cable is part number 65-9172, the 1961 to 1962 is 34.5".

The drive housing is 42-0195 with a 42-0196 shaft.

Best wishes...

Sounds like you have a cable for a rev counter driven from the magneto. Standard for up to 1959 season.

You need a cable for rev counter driven from the oil pump. Standard for 1960 season on.

Most dealers should be able to provide one.

The mag drive setup needs a cable with a spade adaptor to fit the gearbox.

The oil pump drive takes a simple squared end on the cable inner.

The threads are different at each end - the hex connector is 1/2 inch x 26 tpi cycle and the knurled instrument end, if it is a Smiths chronometric, is a 12mm x 1mm pitch metric.
