Title: sloper
Post by: Mike Farmer on 30 Sep, 2018, 19:33
 :)

Hi. Purchased a Sloper about 15 months back. Frame and wheels are done and now its time for the motor to take its turn on the bench. I have no idea what we'll find inside but I guess that it is going to need major internal surgery.

So I would imagine one of the most likely items would be big end bearing. Anyone able to give me some idea of availability of that and indeed any other obvious "bits".

Any advice sincerely appreciated--thanks

Only one place in the UK and that's Alpha Bearings. I have my crank with them at the moment - it was in a bad way and had to have a new drive side shaft made. I don't expect change from £1K.

Hi Mike,
I have a U.K. contact who has recently rebuilt his Sloper engine and is happy to talk to you - PM me if you would like his email address.
Cheers,
Bevan
