Title: 1934 Blue Star speedo drive
Post by: David Samways on 23 Sep, 2018, 13:04
The complete speedometer drive (including the hub gear) is missing from my machine. I will probably fit a blanking plug and use an electronic speedo, but it would be nice to reinstate the original components at some time.

Could someone advise on the type of drive I should be looking for? - some photos would be useful. I can probably make the gear and pinion, but would need some basic information diameter, no of teeth etc so I can work out the D.P..

It goes without saying that I'd be interested in buying any of the components.

While I'm here, does anyone have any recommendations regarding electronic speedometers? I was thinking of the bicycle sort, but these may not be suitable.

Hi there, is it possible that the speedometer could have been an optional extra and never actully fitted?

Hi Glenn

I think that for 1934 a speedo was standard on a Blue Star. The brake plate isn't fitted with a blanking plug so I'm assuming it once had a speedo.
