Title: C15 suspension
Post by: MICKREEVES on 01 Sep, 2018, 13:26
My C15 SS suspension feels very hard. I had to slow down on a bumpy road.
It has only one inch movement on the rear , and about 2 inches on the front.
Is this normal?

The figures are for movement fully extended to fully compressed without the springs.

I think the rear shocks were rated at about 1 inch of compression for 100lb of loading. I assume therefore if you weigh 100lb you would need to put a further force of 100lb on the rear suspension to compress it by a further inch.
Regarding the front suspension, how much movement can you get when you put the front brakes on and push down on the handlebars?

Should be more than 2 inches.

The forks are easy to remove ( relatively easy!)

I would take the spring out and drain the oil and refit the top half without the spring to see what movement you have to make sure you have nothing stopping the fork from moving. Clean everything up and rebuild with new oil and see how you get on!
