The original was quoted as 80 MPH. This was with a 17 tooth output sprocket.
Mine came from the USA with 15 tooth. I changed to 18 tooth. Top speed was about 65 mph or so.
I have now gone to 17 tooth. It is now reaching 73 MPH at 6500 rpm. with a bit more to come.
I think, at 80 years old, I will content myself with that.
I would like to get an accurate speedo, at a reasonable price. All my mph data is from RPM readings.

If you want an accurate speedo fit a bicycle one. They are cheap, easy to fit, unobtrusive and much more accurate that originals.
What are they, and how do they work?
Mick
OK , I found out.
Mick
you can check your speedometer with google maps theres a speedometer built in now and its accurate seemingly .
Just did a trip to the seaside, with my wife following in a car.
YES. Holding the throttle wide on the fast roads, the old girl reached 80, verified by the car.
My bike speedo was round the clock, about 90.

I wouldn't advertise the fact that you were breaking the law!
Yes. along with many others! Its the normal situation.

Oh, that's ok then is it? ::) Another gem from Mr Reeves
I have now added a B25. Feel more 'revy' than the C15 ss, and is lower geared.
Speedo is reading about double, so looking for replacement.
Mick
bought one on Ebay.
120 mph, new £17.49.
spent hours getting it to fit on the bike, then found the speedo input was not for the normal square section
cable, but much smaller??
No Good.
checked bike again on its original speedo. now starting to read a more correct reading.
Ill give it some more milage and see what happens.
