Title: C15 Trials scrambles J shaped kickstart
Post by: GUY HUTCHINSON on 29 Aug, 2018, 13:44
Hi does anyone know of an alternative to the J shaped kickstart on early distributor engine c15 trials /scrambles. I can't believe how awkward it is to use. I thought the Terry Weedy one might work but having studied it can't see how it would.

Further question on this. As far as I can tell there is a different quadrant for the trials / scrambles early models with J shaped kickstart. I think the bike that I have may have the standard one on as the kickstart doesn't return fully (stopped by the footrest). This means that the pawl isn't pushed back in and is constantly engaged. I think the correct part has the cotter cut out at a different angle.
Any ideas where I might get the right part which I think is 40-3125. Draganfly list as available but when I called its just the standard one they have.

Kickstart shaft taken to local engineering company who will hopefully weld up the cotter pin cut out and make another cut out in the position I need. this should allow the kickstart to return to its rest position before hitting the fixed footrest. Fingers crossed.
