Title: A10 gearbox
Post by: Cyclops on 25 Aug, 2018, 10:22
Can anyone explain these marks stamped on an A/B range gearbox. Most will be familiar with STD and RRT2, but what does RR denote. Thanks...

Below will explain.

Note that with the T2 boxes only the inner mainshaft sleeve gear bearing is a needle roller, the outer remains a bush.

A T2 type mainshaft will not fit a bushed sleeve gear - it has a slight step in diameter because the needle roller is about 2 thou greater diameter than the bush.

Tha mainshaft 67 3313 , used on some of the boxes has the G gear machined as part of the shaft so is not removable.
