Title: 1966 a65L stanchion identification

hi all, I have a 1966 A65L and never been happy with front fork damping on stripping them down I found that the bottom of each stanchion are four drilled holes are these stanchion for the shuttle valve legs the inner parts are for normal legs, can anyone help with identification please, Roy

The damper rod and shuttle valve fork shaftes do not interchange, the later is slightly larger diameter.

The damper rod forks have 4 x 3/32 inch holes  above the bottom bush position.

thanks JulianS the reason for the question is they are pitted and are going to be replaced but in my Haynes manual and Draganflys diagram they don't show any holes at the bottom, don't want to buy the wrong ones ,thanks Roy
