Title: Bantam D7 rev changes
Post by: lowbandit on 22 Aug, 2018, 15:49
Hi folks, I have just bought Bantam D7. Haven't been on one of these since I was a teenager. Thing is when I start her up ticks over nicely but if I turn steering, to right it over revs. Any ideas whats happening? Thought it was throttle cable as it was kinked but fitted new cable and still same  ???

Probably the throttle cable, make sure it has a good smooth run and check that it does not tighten when you move the forks to the right. Watch where the cable goes into the twist grip when you turn it to the right. Sometimes you need to move the twist grip position round a bit to get a better cable run. Sometimes slackening the cable adjuster helps.

If you take the throttle off the handle bars, start it up and move the throttle about you will see what movement is causing it. Regards.
