Title: WM20 lectrics and valve lifter.
Post by: Mike Farmer on 28 Jun, 2018, 15:43
 :) :)

Firstly.
I have got to the point now of considering the electrics. I need a regulator and am thinking of fitting a solid state type. As I have to rewire the earth aspect is unimportant and I'm not overly concerned with originality as it will be hidden. Any thoughts or pointers would be very welcome.

Secondly
The "anchor point" bolt for the valve lifter cable has a machined 'flat' on the end. It is machined at an angle to the shank of the bolt. Which way should the angle run. ie should the flat point up or down.

The regulator - suggest the DVR2. Probably the best on the market. Comes positive or negative earth and can be hidden in an original regulator case.

Avoid anything offered beginning with W. Tried one, cheap to buy but awful quality - waste of money.

The flat points up.
I'll second Julian's suggestion regarding regulators. Its what I've done on my WM20 and A10

Mike.
The valve lifter lever is splined so you can adjust it with the valve to get the correct position.
