I wanted to clean & re-grease the speedo drive on my C15 prior to fitting the rear wheel so I cleaned all the old grease of & soaked it in jizer for a few days blew it out with the airline & then let it dry for a few days, after which I wanted to put new grease in there but no grease gun I have would fit the grease nipple.
I took out the grease nipple & used a syringe which I could screw into the thread of the grease nipple hole & kept rotating the speedo drive the grease went in easily.
I hope this help others!

You can buy a conical nozzle to fit on the end of a standard grease gun thread after removing the standard fitting.
you then just remove the existing nipple and push the nozzle into the threaded hole and dispense the grease! Very effective and I was surprised at how much pressure can be exerted when using it.
Available from the usual suspects ( fleabay etc )
Thanks for the info Adrian, I will look into it & save the mess of filling the syringe.

Just goggle grease gun tips or nozzles and look under the images section of google and see just how many different tips are available!
I've never had a problem using an ordinary gun to re-grease a smith speedo drive. If necessary, just use a suitable piece of cloth between the gun and grease nipple to provide an adequate seal.
Very timely, I was wrestling with exactly the same problem on my B40 today, except it has the blanking screw instead of a grade nipple.
Thanks chaps.
