My B31/33 is a tele/rigid, first registered in March 1955, so one of the last rigids. It's currently wearing a chrome tank which I think is an Indian reproduction - it fits fine, but is rather more bulbous than it should be. I've now got an original tank which needs prepping and painting. The buff log book says that the colour is Apple Green: is this an official BSA colour or just a nice description by someone at whatever the DVLA was called in those days?
Thanks for any information. Mark.
Not heard of apple green and dont think green was a colour option for B31 in 1954/1955.

Should be Devon Red http://www.rsbikepaint.com/en-gb/colours.php#makeid=20&modelid=504&prodyear=1955
A 1952 is Brunswick Green http://www.rsbikepaint.com/en-gb/colours.php#makeid=20&modelid=504&prodyear=1952
Devon red and BSA maroon are different colours.
The BSA lists show Devon red as code BSA code 34 and maroon as BSA code 37. That is from factory parts bulletin number 19 from March 1954.
Who knows what's been done to it over its long life? I think it was unregistered for some time, but maybe it had been repainted green from red at some later stage.
