I bought some recently but am finding the bullets (3/16") will not go in the snap connectors. I can just about force the bullet in by pushing on its end, but when a wire is connected to the bullet, and so the push is not directly on its end, I can't get the bullet in. I've tried chamfering the female a bit, but still can't connect the two. I know you wouldn't want them falling out, but if you cant get them in... Anyone had a similar problem, or is there a trick I'm missing? Phil.
The last lot I bought are difficult to push home too . I use the wire strippers on a bigger setting to go round the cable , but not cut it , and push on the brass bullet to get it home .
Modern ones seem to be quite difficult to push in. I always push against the bullet itself and sometime waggling it a bit as you push starts it going. You can buy a special pliers like tool to make it easier but I've never needed to use one. The alternative is to use a tapered punch to slightly prise open the end of the bullet before using it.
