Title: Pattern Mudgaurds
Post by: sidewaysid on 27 Mar, 2018, 17:58
Hi
Can anyone say if the pattern guards on ebay from India are any good, or are they really awful.

Cheers

I got a pair from Mickys Spares in India for my plunger B31 and had a few issues- the main problem was that on the rear guard the middle bracket was out by about 1½" and I had to fabricate a connecting piece and drill another pair of holes. The front one was near enough and just required a bit of persuasion to get the original stays to fit.
To be fair to the seller they did offer to replace them with the brackets and holes in the right place- as per the measurements I would provide- but as I had already had them painted it would have meant another paint job.
Basically- if you are willing to "make do" then they are ok- certainly a lot cheaper than you can get them in the UK.
