Title: C15 wheels
Post by: RobinG on 25 Mar, 2018, 11:50
Hi all,

I'm new to BSA "bigger bikes". I currently have a Bantam, and I'm now rebuilding a '59 C15 from a pile of bits.
I'd like to build the C15 in a green-laner style, but I'm already realising that knobby tyres are in short supply for 17" wheels.

I've got to have my wheels rebuilt anyway, so it occurred to me that I could have the hubs rebuilt onto 18' rims. Does anyone have any experience of doing this on a standard c15 road bike?  Are there any known clearance issues if I stick to the same rim width?

Any advice gratefully received.

Robin

As long as you stick to the same tyre width there are no issues fitting 18" wheels to a C15 - many would say they look better on the bike than the original 17" wheels.
