Title: Hot Carb on 3 1/2 hp flat tanker
Post by: scifi on 01 Oct, 2026, 18:10
Hi Guys, I have a 1925 3.5 hp flat tanker.  The last time I rode it, it stalled and I could not get it started again.   When I touched the Carb it was as hot as the exhaust pipe, so I thought it was vapour locked.

Has anyone noticed that these un-insulated brass carbs run hot..?   Should I try to fit a newer Amal TT, which has a fibre spacer, but would require a new inlet manifold..?
