Title: 1970 A65 Fork rebuild
Post by: watts on 25 Aug, 2026, 17:27
I have the shuttle valve type, which I have rebuilt.  Is there a tool or method for tightening the retaining nut in the bottom of the stanchion. It is slim and hard to get good contact with it, I have several girling type c-spanners, but wondering if I was missing something.
Or is just a case of hiding it with a drift?

Thank you.

I managed it  with a thin socket with a 1/4" drive, don't remember the size of the socket

Sorry for the misunderstanding, I did it with a plier , the nut was already ruined
Make a spanner out of metal, or a drift If necccary.

Thought the bolt in de bottom leg...........
