Is it the original metallic paint? These were a base colour and contrasting clear coat, near impossible to match.

hi Rob,
i forgot to mention the tank has a metalic finish.
i need a touch up colour match as 95% of the paint is ok

If its the original then it could be two different colours that have to be matched separately.  Does it change colour in different lights?  My orange tank did and it was impossible to touch up.

I recall now, on the inside of the side panels on mine you could see the base and top colours because they weren't fully sprayed.

The original on my OIF Thunderbolt the colour was 'Stirling Moss Green' and not to my taste so I got it resprayed with Rover British Racing Green, mush more pleasing to the eye.

I was never able to get a match on my orange OIF A65 so painted it black with gold lines.  I sanded it smooth and painted over the existing paint as it was well keyed to the metal.

Eddie, I always get my tanks and tinware professionally done. I lived in South Wales at the time and Polly Palmer got it done for me.

This would have been around 2006.
