I'm currently restoring my 1935 BSA B35-3 de-luxe 250cc engine but discovered that gaskets were not available. I have therefore commissioned a full engine gasket set professionally manufactured. Several patterns were produced and trial-fitted, with revisions made where necessary, until I was completely satisfied that the fit was correct.
The set comprises the following:
27-1378 – Oil Pump Body Joint Washer ×1
(27-1598) – Timing Cover Paper Washer ×1
29-811 – Engine Shaft Felt Washer ×1
31-32 – Cylinder Base Paper Washer ×1
31-34 – Cylinder Head Washer ×1
(31-63) – Rocker Box Side Cover Cork Washer ×1
31-67 – Valve Rocker Spindle Felt Washer ×2
31-361 – Push Rod Cover Tube Flange Washer (Paper) ×2
31-363 – Push Rod Cover Tube Washer (Top) ×1 (Not shown in the picture)
Any part numbers above in brackets refer to components for which no gasket is listed in the original BSA parts book. I suspect these joints originally relied on a metal-to-metal fit, but I felt it worthwhile including gaskets to help keep the oil in.
The cylinder head gasket is manufactured from a modern tanged graphite material. However, if a more traditional solid annealed copper head gasket was preferred, this can be supplied as an alternative.
As many of you will appreciate, finding a company willing to manufacture one-off gaskets was difficult. Now that these are manufactured, I'm happy to have further sets made if it helps anyone else out.

Thanks,
Phill
