Title: Side stand 1968 A50 (pre OIF) 67-4889
Post by: Tigerfeet on 24 Jun, 2026, 09:01
I have managed to get a used 67-4889 side stand for my A50.  It has seen some action.  It has a bend in the horizontal axis near the top. Can anyone confirm whether this is how it is suppossed to be? (My guess is that it should be straight in that axis.)
Also, the fixing lugs are splayed.

Does anyone know if these stands are made with the same material as BSA footpegs, and so can be straightened cold. Or do I need to take it to a blacksmith?

I would use heat, just because its old and could have work hardened and you don't want a crack.  A blowlamp and a vice should do.
