Title: I've got the knee grip blues... with my '35 B-35-2
Post by: Macneill on 21 Jun, 2026, 04:20
1935 BSA B35-2; Pictured on the left side, in my first photo is the original knee grip. And beside it is a new BSA grip that I got from Cornucopia. I gather this bigger grip fits a Sloper tank?    The profile is quite different,  but I no alternative, then I could get used to that look.      My big problem is the mounting holes, which are too small and on very different centers.    I am considering carefully cutting,  to reduce depth of the sides and cut out interior to make room for the two tank pins. Then,  glue to the tank using either black silicone or automotive weatherstrip adhesive.
All that said,  do any members know of a source for the correct new smaller grip ? (as pictured on the left side of my first photo)
Also, any advice or comments on my glue idea would be appreciated.  I've had good results in the past with black silicone but been told that the Permatex weatherstrip adhesive is stronger.  The down side is that it is yellow and harder to hide.
Thanks again,  Grant in Toronto

I would try Jeff Hunter Engineering in the UK. Jeffalanhunter@aol.com
If you want to glue the larger ones on, I would use Gorilla glue.

If you do glue them (not a bad idea)  is it possible to hide a clear nylon line under the tank to catch one if it falls off?
