Title: A50 / A65 smain stand modification success
Post by: Tigerfeet on 15 Jun, 2026, 07:59
Getting my A50 onto its centre stand was becoming a struggle. So I got my welder pal to add an inch into the operating lever just before the right angle.  It has reduced the effort required substantially: it has changed from being a struggle to being no problem. I would strongly recommend this if you are not still in the first flush of youth....

I went with 1" as it meant that the toe piece was still clear of the ground. It would be perfectly simple to add a 1.5" piece if it was angled up by 10 degrees or so (I haven't measured this.)

A side benefit to this mod was that I discovered that the stand lever arm had been knocking a dent in the left silencer. So I also got my welder pal to rebuild the limit stop on the stand which has fixed that.

If you can fit a folding footrest ontl the upper shock mount. Gives you a much better  place to pullback at a better angle.
